Details

Zero Main Inc. is focused on developing properties in environmentally sensitive areas, such as flood plains, where climate change awareness is crucial. The goal of this project is to utilize advanced drone technology and portable weather stations to collect comprehensive environmental data, including soil, air, water, and climate metrics. Students will apply their classroom knowledge to analyze this data, contributing to virtual simulations and sustainability initiatives. The project aims to explore the natural features of Ontarioโ€™s farmland and townships, helping to develop eco-friendly solutions for property development. This initiative will involve site visits, research, and data analysis, providing students with hands-on experience and the opportunity to engage with scientists, local authorities, and community partners. The ultimate objective is to shape sustainable, user-friendly spaces that align with Zero Main Inc.โ€™s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a comprehensive environmental data analysis report, highlighting key findings and eco-friendly solutions for property development. Students will also create virtual simulations that demonstrate the impact of proposed solutions. Additionally, a presentation summarizing the research, analysis, and proposed solutions will be delivered to Zero Main Inc. and relevant stakeholders. These deliverables will showcase the students' ability to apply their academic knowledge to real-world environmental challenges.
